INSTRUCTION 

The club instructs tradition archery, barebow, Olympic recurve, and compound archery with coaches who specialize in each area. The coaches are all trained and certified by both the USA Archery Association and the National Field Archery Association.  We use the NTS – National Training System as a base and adapt to each individual archer’s style and physiology and we do not impose any one system upon an experienced archer – we find what is best for them.  

COACHING  

While our coaches are diverse and have their own pedagogical approaches, we follow a similar system and program in the club for cohesiveness and results and to create lack of confusion as we all work together in the group programs a s well as training up and coming instructors and coaches for the club and to this end, we meet regularly to discuss methods, advancements, program ideas, and students. 

GOALS & PHYLOPHY

Our goal of the Founder and Head Coach Dan Tibbetts is to provide the best possible experience in his Archery Center by providing a fun filled program with variety, and quality professional instruction in a caring environment. His coaching philosophy is to create personal growth resulting in pride and confidence from a supportive and positive coaching model. There is no larger joy for Coach Dan than when he sees the pride a student shows with a glint in the eye or a smile or even a laugh when they succeed on any tiny or large level! 

FACILITY & EQUIPMENT 

Our indoor facility is in Campbell California conveniently right off Hwy 17/880 at Hamilton Avenue & San Thomas Expressway. The archery center is purposefully located centrally in Santa Clara County or Silicon Valley only 5-10 minutes from Los Gatos, Saratoga, San Jose, Almaden, Santa Clara and 15 minutes max from Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and Palo Alto. The center are the only full time indoor archery facility in Silicon valley.                                                                                                                                                                        The facility sports11 archery lanes for training. The Professional Competition targets are mounted on wheels so we can cater to increasing distances for each individual archer up to the indoor competition distance of 18 meters. The club offers high quality recurve takedown bows, specialized arrows, and safety equipment for Discover Archery beginners through Explore Archery levels.  

BREIF HISTORY 

Maestro Tibbetts founded the California Fencing Academy in Los Gatos in 1888 and produced endless champions and became the only US coach to be examined by both senior examination board members of Italy and France. In 2002 Dan added his lifetime love of archery to his club to fill some gaps in the schedule and to give the families another sport to try out. The archery program exploded. With covid Dan retired from traveling the world coaching fencing and producing numerous National Champions, US World Team Members, World Cup and World Championship Finalists. He decided to focus on archery only (although he has always trained horses and fly fishermen and still does). The archery program started with the help of renowned Coach Tom Hinojosa who was Dan’s mentor in getting certified and Tom honored Dan’s as his first instructor to help get the program launched in earnest. Today we have a large membership and the number 1 junior barebow archer in the country and our archers are placing first and second on the state podium as well. This is the same way Dan started with Fencing, and within 5 years he had the number 1-3 top fencers in the country in both foil and epee and stamped his starting seal into the history of fencing! Now we are on a mission to do the same in archery with the help of his awesome coaches who take the lead in daily instruction and coaching.
